Finally in Orlando!
Well here i am, Im in mouse country! 2 days till i check into where ill be living while I’m working at Disney! I’m super excited! and to top it off, i had the best day of my life yesterday… Its always been my dream to go to the Disney Animation Studios in Burbank California where all the disney films are made, but after googling everything, i learnt that its almost impossible to get in… unless you know someone. I didn’t “know” someone, but a knew of a random guy on an animation site who was a Disney animator, so i emailed him with the off chance he could get in the gates just to take some photos. On the day i was leaving LA, he called and said he could put me down as his guest to show me around. He took me all threw the WHOLE studio, it was AMAZING! i saw the offices of Erik Goldberg, Dale Baer, Andreas Deja and all my heroes as they were working away. I walked threw their hang out area, and he goes “John Lasserter is just over there, i had a meeting with him this morning”. He took me into his office and showed me his work on Winnie the Pooh (all traditional hand drawn) and showed me some shots from the new Disney CG film they are working on! I went and had lunch with the employees and just walked the halls, no tourist, no fans, just animators!!
